 PROJECT TECHNOLOGIST, 20 Years with ESSO’s Engineering Department 

·        Managed major projects for ESSO’s marketing facilities: distribution terminals, bulk plants, service stations, cardlocks, marinas, and aviation refueling systems.

·        Total project management including: inspections, budget planning, estimates, drawings, specifications, tendering, scheduling, contract administration, and supervision of construction.

·        Non-petroleum projects including wharf rebuilds, offices, warehouses, bay additions, car washes, canopies, convenience stores, and kiosks.

·        Petroleum projects involving tanks both above and in ground, floating pans in distribution tanks, piping, loading and unloading racks, meters, and pumps to 100 h.p. and pipeline projects. Familiar with all modes of petroleum delivery, truck, rail, marine, and pipeline.

·        Environmental protection projects, tank farm liners, catchment slabs at rail and truck unloading, pump slabs, and petroleum interceptors.

·        Member of ESSO’s national bulk plant design team, to establish design standards.

Environmental rebuilds consisting of above ground tanks, piping, pumps, truck load racks, rail car and truck unloading, tank farm liners, catchment slabs and petroleum separators at:

·        Kamloops, Terrace, Sandspit, Skidegate, Quesnel, New Hazleton, Williams Lake, 100 Mile House,  Revelstoke, McBride, Valemount, Port Hardy, Abbotsford, Cloverdale, Castlegar

·        All were multi-tank facilities, with total storage of up to 1,000,000 liters and pumping speeds of 1,000 liters/min.

  MARINAS:

Designed and supervised construction of grass-roots (total) or major rebuilds at:

·        Campbell River, Discovery Harbour (Campbell River), Nanaimo, Victoria, Huron St. (Victoria), Ucluelet, False Creek (Vancouver), Mission, Fisherman’s Cove, Sewells, Gibsons, Lund Hotel, Rivers Inlet, Prince Rupert, Coal Harbour (Stanley Park, Van.),

·        12 dry-dock refits of 3 steel barges; Steveston, False Creek, and Coal Harbour

 AVIATION:

Designed and supervised construction of grass-roots (total) or major rebuild at the following Airports:

·        Victoria, Port Hardy, Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton, Castlegar, Cranbrook, Fort Nelson, Dawson Creek, Prince George, Quesnel, Ft. St. John, Sandspit

 DISTRIBUTION TERMINALS:

Various projects at terminals in:

·        Victoria, Nanaimo, Campbell River, Burnaby, Prince Rupert, Prince George, Ashcroft, Armstrong, Castlegar. Projects consisted of pump installations (100 h.p.), floating pans in 50’ dia. tanks, pipeline pig catcher, terminal automation, environmental upgrades, piping replacement, and other modifications.

Hands on installation of 30 steel tanks as a tradesman. Designed and supervised 100 steel tank and 250 fiberglass tank installations as a project manager.
